Bob Graham Education Center’s Bobcat Dancers won awards at The American Dance Alliance State Dance Competition.
On Jan. 27 at the Charles F. Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines, the team of 27 dancers performed 17 routines, a release from the school said.
Girls from middle and elementary grades received accolades for their performances. Lauren Cancela and Kristina Vilches placed third for their duet in the middle school competition. Elementary soloist Isabella Diaz received second place and Mia Perez took third place.
A trio of elementary dancers won first place for their group dance.
Middle school students received first place in open group routine, second place in lyrical dance and third place in a jazz performance.
Bobcats in the elementary division won third place in the hip hop category, fourth in jazz and fifth in lyrical dance.
“Overall, they had an excellent experience and an opportunity to express their love for dance,” the school said.
