BGEC's Civics Academy earns honors in 'We the People' competition

The Bob Graham Education Center eighth grade Civics Engagement Academy competed in ‘We the People’ Competition at Barry University School of law in Orlando. The students represented the M-DCPS District at the state competition. 

The students were lead by teachers Ingy Cruz, Jackie Hernandez and John Brady. The group earned first place for Professionalism and the Middle School Award of Excellence. Additionally, Unit Three won first place overall. The outcome of the state competition is to be announced in May. If the group moves on to the next level of the competition, they could represent the state at the national level for the second consecutive year.
