Giving Gators' 'Miami Lakes Got Talent' show generates $4,500

The non-profit Giving Gators, Inc. hosted its first annual “Miami Lakes Got Talent” evening on April 27 at Barbara Goleman Senior High School.

The event brought in students, teachers, and alumni from many local schools to perform together and showcase the many talents in the community.

A total of 22 performances included jazz band, concert band, ballroom dancers, various solo artists, a Michael Jackson impressionist, cheerleaders, Drum Line, and more.

Participating schools included Bob Graham Education Center, Goleman, Miami Lakes K-8 Center, Miami Lakes Middle School, BB Harts Performing Arts Academy, and Mater Lakes Academy.

A total of $4,500 was generated for charity. Proceeds will benefit underprivileged students within local schools, as well as assist the replacement of the current outdated sound system in the Goleman auditorium.

Event sponsors included Nu World Title LLC, Specialty Smiles Orthodontics, MVP Advertising, Robert C. Dominguez P.A., PRMGDoral, Air Cooling, Inc., Adrian Fish Market & Restaurant, Markwell Florida, MCM Holdings Inc., AXA Advisors, VP Energy, Sir Speedy of Miami Lakes, and the Mayor’s Cafe.
