Goleman senior is a National Merit semifinalist

     Barbara Goleman Senior High School Senior Christopher Prophete was recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program, the school announced. 

     Christopher, 17, is a semifinalist to receive the scholarship, which would be awarded when he graduates in 2026. 

      Students are considered for the scholarship based off their preliminary SAT scores. 

     If Christopher wins, he will receive $2,500 which may be applied to tuition at a school that is in the National Merit College program. 

     His achievement prompted a trip to the principal’s office where Christopher chose from a reward from the candy stash.
