Hialeah Miami Lakes student accepted to Dartmouth College

Hialeah Miami Lakes (HML) senior Naomi Valdez will be heading to Dartmouth College in New Hampshire in the fall of 2019. She applied for an early decision in the Engineering Program and was thrilled to receive her acceptance notification on December 13.
Valdez has had a successful high school experience at HML. She will graduate in June with dual enrollment credits from Florida International University which she earned on campus. Additionally, she will enter her freshman year with 13 advanced placement courses under her belt.
Academics has not been her only focus. Valdez has played on the HML soccer and tennis teams during her high school career. She has also participated in Mu Alpha Theta, Science National Honor Society, DECA and Model United Nations. This year, she started her own club in conjunction with the Digital Media Magnet program. This group Girls Who Code, encourages young women to explore careers in STEM areas.
