HML's Silver Knight candidates

Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High School (HML) has announced its Silver Knight Award nominees for the 2018-2019 school year. 
The Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards is one of the nation’s most highly regarded student awards programs. The purpose of this awards program is to recognize outstanding students who have not only maintained good grades but have also unselfishly applied their special knowledge and talents to contribute significant service to their schools and communities. 
The HML nominees include Meia Chambers, Science Silver Knight nominee; Michel Vazquez Diaz, Mathematics Silver Knight nominee; Naomi Valdez, Social Science Silver Knight nominee; and Erik Fernandez, Music and Dance Silver Knight nominee.
One Silver Knight and three honorable mentions in each category will be announced at a ceremony on May 16 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami. Silver Knight winners will receive a $2,000 prize and the honorable mention winners will receive $500 each.
