Various local students from Hialeah Gardens Senior High School, Barbara Goleman Senior High School and Mater Academy were nominated for the 2017 Miami Herald’s Silver Knights Awards at the James L. Knight Center.
For the category of Art, Mater Academy student Ivanna Rodriguez was nominated and earned an honorable mention. For the category of General Scholarship, Barbara Goleman’s Kelsy Ruano, and Mater Academy’s Sally Lu both received honorable mentions. For Mathematics Dayme Delgado from Mater Academy received an honorable mention.
For the Science category Hialeah Gardens Senior High School’s Patricia Fuentes received an honorable mention. For World Languages Hialeah Gardens Senior High’s Helen Morejon received an honorable mention.
