Miami Lakes children, as well as students from area schools, are invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Main Street Banner Art Contest where up to 26 winners’ artwork will be showcased down Main Street on the light pole banners.
This year's theme is: “My Home, My Community.” Artworks can show, but are not limited to, any of the following attributes that connect with Miami Lakes: Culture + Heritage, Parks + Nature, Arts, Town Center, or Active Living.
The contest is open to all children who live in Miami Lakes or attend a Miami Lakes public school. Local public schools include Miami Lakes K-8 Center, Bob Graham Education Center, Miami Lakes Middle School, Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High School, Barbara Goleman Senior High School, Miami Lakes Educational Center or any Miami Lakes private school.
Artwork is to be submitted for judging on or by December 12, 2014. Winners will be notified by mail the week of January 12, 2015, and will be printed in the February 7, 2015 edition of The Miami Laker. Artwork will be printed on banners which will be hung along Main Street and will be on display through May 2015.
