Mater Academy competes at FBLA

Members of the Mater Academy Charter High School (MATER) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) returned from San Antonio, Texas FBLA's National Conference with many awards and recognition. The event took place from June 29 - July 2.
The following students were recognized in their categories: Juliet Munoz and Aiden Guerrero - first place in Business Financial Plan. Nathaly Oliva - third place in Local Chapter Annual Business Report. Michael Lopez, Alex Chang, Maximus Marroquin and Juan Gonzalez - seventh place in Parliamentary Procedure. Kassandra Perez and Rachel Ponce eighth place in Publication Design.
Timothy Oei - ninth place in Networking Concepts.
Gabriella Melo was recognized for her community service efforts working with Lead4Change through Feeding South Florida.
Advisers for MATER FBLA, one of the top chapters in the nation, is long-time Miami Lakes resident and business teacher Tonya Alvarez, along with Daisy Benitez and Ronny Perez.
