Mater Academy principal, Judy Marty, honored for dedication to youth education

Mater Academy principal Judy Marty was recognized with a Community Achievement Award for her dedication to improving the lives of South Florida children through education. The Community Achievement Award was sponsored by several local FM radio stations including Y-100, TU 94.9 and 93.9. Since Marty became principal, Mater Academy’s graduation rate has increased each year with students also earning an Associate of Arts Degree from Miami-Dade College. The school also received an “A” rating in the state’s FCAT examination, and was chosen among America’s best schools for 2008 and 2009 by U.S. News and World Report.
