Mater Academy students place first at HOSA competitions

Four Mater Academy students finished in first place in their respective categories at the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) regional competition. First place winners were 12th grader Sheila Perez for Dental Terminology, 12th grade student Sally Lu for Transcultural Health, and 11th grade students Natalie Roque and Yilliam Elias for Forensic Medicine. In addition, 10th grade student Liliana Gonzalez finished in third place for Medical Law and Ethics; Roxana Alvarez,  a 12th grade student, came in fourth place for Dental Terminology; and 11th grade students Daniela Morejon and Laura Pita both finished in 4th place for Public Health. The students all advanced to the state competition.
