The school year has barely begun and Mater Academy’s FBLA chapter has already volunteered countless hours to the March of Dimes Organization.
The Mater FBLA Chapter volunteered in late August for Macy’s Shop for a Cause event which partnered with the March of Dimes. Mater Academy FBLA members volunteered at their local mall, (Westland Mall) in Hialeah Gardens, to raise awareness about March of Dimes mission and how to donate to this amazing organization.
Members spoke to Macy’s customers about their weekend saving pass which included 25% off their purchase with a five dollar donation at the Macy’s department store. All the money raised went directly to the March of Dimes’ cause to help premature babies and their mothers.
In addition, members spoke about the impact of the Zika virus to the community and particularly, pregnant woman by passing out informational flyers issued by the March of Dimes.
