The Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ annual Synergy Summer Institute program was held at Miami Jackson Senior High School during the last weeks of July for all schools in Dade County. Synergy is an academic support program that strives to strengthen MDCPS through resources for school administration and faculty like tailored workshops focused on 21st century learning. “Digital Fluency” is encouraged as a skill for students to thrive in a technology-focused world. Miami Lakes Educational Center principal, Lourdes Diaz, (pictured) points to one of the signs at the event that reads: “Teachers need to integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum instead of viewing it as an add-on, an afterthought, or an event” by Heidi-Hayes Jacobs.
