Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has been able to not only increase enrollment in advanced placement (AP) courses, but passing rates on AP exams have also increased.

In the 2017-2018 school year, more than 30,000 students were enrolled in an AP course, with 55 percent of those students passing the exam. AP classes allow students to earn college credits while still enrolled in high school; this can help the student with the cost of college, saving them thousands of dollars in tuition fees.

Thirty-seven AP classes are offered throughout M-DCPS, including courses dealing with arts, social sciences, languages, mathematics and more.
