Miami-Dade Public Schools teachers graduate from prestigious state program

Forty-one teachers of Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) were among 83 educators in the state last week who graduated from the prestigious Florida Turnaround Leaders program.

The rigorous two-year course is considered one of the largest and most successful programs of its kind. Superintendent of Miami-Dade Schools, Alberto M. Carvalho, welcomed the graduates and leaders of districts and gave the keynote speech.

The project was a collaborative effort between the Florida Department of Education, the Southern Regional Education Board, five school districts of Florida and the University of North Florida. Leaders were identified by their districts as viable future leaders who can meet the challenge of become leaders of radical changes.

Costa-DeVito, Sylvia Coto-Gonzalez, DeArmas Michael, Dobbs Victoria, Donaldson LaRhonda, Marie Dugas, Edouard Tammy Smith, Reginald Fox, Francisco Garnica, Ramón Garrigo, Terrance Gibson, Ana Gutierrez, Robert Hoel, Angela Holbrook, Jorva Beatrice, Lillie-Kamila Johnson, Adrian Rogers, Desiree Sardo, Jason Allen, Madelyn-Fernández Almeida, Alves Lisette, Gregory Beckford, Cecelia Magrath, Ania Marti, Evie Mayor, Maria Medina, Elinor Milian, Ilia Molina, Derek Negron, Yolanda Oliu, Ramdath Ria, Carlos Salcedo, Adrián Sánchez, Crystal Spence, Stanfield Griselda, Vega Aileen and Barbara Vinas.
