Miami Lakes K-8 Center (MLK8) students and parents joined Feeding South Florida's 24-hour Sort-A-Thon on September 8. Over 26,000 pounds of food was sorted in a three hour shift for individuals and families affected by food insecurity.
Feeding South Florida is the sole Feeding America food bank that serves counties like Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe. More than 98 percent of all donations are put back into the community. The staff and students of MLK8 are proud to partner with Feeding South Florida.
