Miami Lakes K-8 Center students make Top 10 at mock trial competition

Students from the Miami Lakes K-8 Center’s Law Studies program can be proud of how they ended their school year.  The team placed 6th in the state among 70 schools that participated in the Florida Mock Trial Competition held in the spring at Florida Southern College in Lakeland. Competitors submitted video entries and the winners were announced via Zoom. Led by teacher Jennifer Simeon, the students argued both sides of a criminal case and also played the roles of attorneys and witnesses. The school celebrated their success and placing in the Top 10 for the third time.
