Talk Crafty to Me!  Thurs., Jan. 18,  11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Work on crafts with other adults. Materials provided. Ages 19+.

Homework Help & Tutoring  Sat, Jan. 20, 27 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Certified teachers meet students in grades K-12 for one-hour sessions withhomework help and tutoring in reading, math and science. Hunting the Haunted – Presented by Bill Selvin of the Paranormal Existence Research Society  Sat., Jan. 20,  3 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Join renowned paranormal investigator Bill Slevin and his team to learn all about the paranormal. Learn about the equipment investigators use, hear stories from the field, encounter evidence captured during investigations and more. Ages 8+

Adult Learning Academy Basic English for Beginners Mon., Jan. 22, 29, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. A 10-week course for adults who do not speak any English. The semester is Jan. 8 – March 18. Certified teachers will provide English language instruction, in person, at the library. Registration is required is for all 10 weeks. Space is limited. Ages 18+.

Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing for Toddlers en dos idiomas  Tues., Jan. 23, 11 a.m. – Noon Library staff present stories, songs and activities in English and Spanish for toddlers and caregivers.

Creative Candle Making for Teens Wed., Jan. 24, 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Select the wax color and choose a fragrance to make your own candle. Materials provided. Made possible by the Town of Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board. Ages 12 – 18.

Teen Library Advisory Board Wed., Jan. 31, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Earn community service hours while improving the library for you and your friends. Plan and implement events, provide feedback on books, movies, video games and more. Ages 16 – 19

Afro Dance with Andres – Celebrating Black Life, History and Culture Thurs., Feb. 1, 11 a.m. – Noon Learn traditional dances of African origin that can be seen in Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and Peru. Registration required, call 305-822-6520. Ages 5+ 

Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW) Fri., Feb. 2, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Renew a driver’s license, obtain a replacement; change a name or address; get an ID card; renew a vehicle registration or purchase a specialty license plate. Registration required. Call for an appointment: 305-822-6520. Ages 18+
