The Future Educators of America club (FEA) at Miami Lakes Middle School, led by club sponsor, Melanie Gonzalez, had the opportunity to interact with young children at the Kid’s Choice Day Care center. The middle school students collaborated with the preschool teachers to assist in fostering learning for the children ages 3 to 5. Hands-on activities such as tissue paper Christmas wreaths and paper plate snowmen were created and books were read aloud throughout the day.

“Providing this opportunity for my middle school students to teach and interact with this educational age group is very fulfilling. I always said I wanted to be the reason a student succeeds and by allowing my F.E.A. members to really see behind the scenes, I feel it made a huge impact on them,” said Gonzalez.
