Marisel Gamez, a Miami Lakes resident since 2001, recently graduated from law school and passed the Florida Bar exam in September.
Gamez attended the University of Florida to earn two bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and English. A longtime devoted student who excelled in high school, graduating in the top 10 percent, and also excelled in undergraduate studies, it was a natural transition to pursue a law degree at the Florida International University College of Law.
Gamez graduated in May and after passing the bar exam, was officially sworn in by Senior Judge Phyllis Kotey on September 19.
“I wanted to go to law school because I am committed to helping others and I believe that offering legal services contributes to being an integral part of the justice system,” Gamez said.
Gamez began working as a staff attorney for the Florida Supreme Court in October. In celebration of her accomplishments, Gamez traveled to Japan and Washington, D.C.
