Jonathan Tagoe, a senior in the Engineering Strand of the Cambridge Academy at Miami Lakes Educational Center (MLEC), was one of 70 students selected from across the country and Puerto Rico to participate in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) MITES Program, the Minority Introduction to Engineering and Science (MITES).

MITES is a rigorous six-week residential academic enrichment program for promising high school seniors who have a strong academic record and are interested in studying and exploring careers in science and engineering.

Tagoe enrolled in college courses, including college level Calculus, Physics 2 (electricity and magnetism), and humanities courses.
