Miami Lakes K-8 Center art teachers Gary Anuez, Maria Marti, and Maria Ordaz, along with music teachers Sara Cino and two-time Grammy nominated musician Mario Ortiz, celebrated the talents of the graduating students at the Fine Arts Night held in May at the school.

This annual event, going on six years, brings together the art and sounds of the talented students under the tutelage of these encouraging teachers. The music played by students as children and parents walk the halls to view the artwork is meant to simulate the feeling of an art gallery.

Student artworks from grades two through eight were featured for the 600 guests that attended. The event is meant to continue inspiring students and to celebrate the hard work they have poured into their artistic pursuits throughout the school year.

“We hope our students learn passion and respect for the arts, and an understanding for the importance of art,” said Anuez.
