On May 19, coach German Garcia, Athletic Director at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School, received the All Catholic Conference (ACC) Outstanding Leadership Award for Athletic Director.
To qualify for this award, an athletic director must first be nominated by other coaches, athletic directors, and peers from one or more of the 27 Catholic schools in Miami-Dade County. The Conference then selects the award recipient from a group of 10 nominees.
Garcia was selected for outstanding leadership and sportsmanship. He expressed his gratitude to the parents, fellow teachers and OLL coaches who have helped him throughout the year.
“I share this award with all of you as we are truly a team and, despite not always agreeing with each other, we must keep working together because we have the same goal – to teach our students life lessons in and out of the classroom. With Christ, anything is possible on a daily basis.”
OLL coaches Ulises Hernandez and Danny Perez received ACC Outstanding Leadership Awards for their work leading the basketball and baseball teams, respectively.
