OLL participates in Give Miami Day for fundraising

Religious Tuesday, December 1, 2015

Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School (OLL) participated in its first Give Miami Day fundraising campaign, with hopes to raise some much needed funds for playground improvements. Thanks to the school community as well as church parishioners, the school raised $15,756 with 174 gifts in less than 24 hours.

“Through the generosity of our school family and parishioners, we will be able to remodel our children’s playground and have a safe environment for them to play at our school,” commented Ricardo Briz, Our Lady of the Lakes principal.  “Having parents, alumni and parishioners joining together to donate to our ‘Little Cheetah’s Playground’ is a living example of our school’s mission statement.”

While donations could be received at any time over 24 hours, OLL offered some incentive prizes for gifts made at designated times throughout the day. The coveted prizes were generously donated by local businesses such as Italy Today, Hale’s Health Foods, the Doubletree Grand Hotel on Biscayne Bay, the Spa at Shula’s, Cancun Grill, and Trattoria Pampered Chef.

Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School also offers a Voluntary Pre-K and Early Childhood program for ages 2 to 4 years old. The preschool program for four year olds offers enrichment classes in music, art, physical education and Spanish. Plus, students also enjoy the use of technology through a SMARTBoard and iPads.
