Twenty-one Pace High School juniors and seniors traveled to six Florida state universities for the annual Pace College Campus Tours. This unique experience, currently in its fourth year, offered current Pace students the chance to preview potential college options within the state.

The group toured the University of South Florida, Florida Gulf Coast University, University of Florida, Florida State University, University of North Florida and University of Central Florida. A highlight of the trip was when Pace students were able to reunite with several Pace High School alumni who are now current students at UF, UCF and FSU. This allowed them to speak candidly with their former peers about their university experience thus far, and what to expect as they enter college.

This three-day road trip “was a great opportunity for the students to not only hear about the wonderful opportunities each university has to offer, but to have the privilege to experience what a day is like in the university and connect with a campus,” said Pace’s college advisor and trip organizer Melanie Otero.

The students were able to get a sense of whether any of the six colleges will be a right fit for them as they begin to think about where they will be headed for the next four years of their academic journey.
