Monsignor Edward Pace High School raised over $4,000 from their annual Battle of the Bands and DJs, a fundraiser with a 30-year tradition.
The money will benefit Pace’s sister school in Haiti, and will be used to help pay salaries there, according to David Masters, theology teacher at Pace.
Masters helped start the event in 1991. It has since grown, not only as a way to raise money but to also allow Spartans to express themselves.
This year’s winners were seniors Marvin Olivier and Michael Ferguson in the band category who played a jazz number, and junior Josiah Mozloom, who aced the DJ contest.
