Perla Tabares Hantman, chair of the Miami-Dade County School Board and Governing Board Member of the Miami-Dade MPO, was appointed by the MPO Governing Board at its October 23 meeting, along with four other members, to serve on a Committee, which will select a replacement of the current MPO Executive Director who is retiring at the end of the month.
The MPO is a federally mandated and funded transportation policy-making organization whose Governing Board oversees the transportation planning process for Miami-Dade County.
“I am honored to serve with four of my colleagues on this very important Committee to select a new MPO Executive Director, a position with a very unique job description, responsible for directing, managing and planning projects that enhance the county’s transportation network over the short and long-term,” stated Hantman.
