School Board Chair leads students in 20th of May event

Perla Tabares Hantman, chairman of the Miami-Dade County School Board, joins students at M.A. Milam K-8 Center who participated in the celebration of the 20th of May, Cuban Independent Day. On that date, Cuba ceased being a colony of Spain and joined the community of free democratic republics in the Western Hemisphere. Hantman has sponsored a celebration of the historic day for the past 13 years at Milam K-8, currently under the leadership of principal Anna M. Hernandez.
