In his first year as principal of Hialeah Miami Lakes High School, Eric Acosta (left) was recognized by State Senator Rene Garcia for his outstanding contributions to the school and community. Last month, Garcia paid a visit to the school and honored and congratulated Acosta, who received a standing ovation from teachers, students and other faculty members. Garcia’s recognition comes on the heels of his school’s iPrep magnet program being selected by Magnet Schools of America as a “Magnet School of Distinction Award Winner for 2015.
