Spanish Lake Elementary (SLE) showcased this year’s talented students in the arts with a truly magical showcase featuring the school’s orchestra, various choruses, bucket group and SLE’s dance group, The Rubies. Classes were invited during the day for this performance and parents were invited to an evening show.
Proceeding the evening show, principal Jacqueline Arias- Gonzalez hosted a “thank you” dessert reception for school volunteers, Dade Partners, and Educational Excellence School Advisory Council (EESAC) members. From May 23 through 25, the art teachers hosted their annual art showcase. It was open during the evening for parents to attend, while students visited during the day.
The SLE arts department did a wonderful job with end-of-theyear festivities. Those responsible were teachers from the music department including Jackson Bunn, Diana Garcia and Elizabeth Vazquez. The art department includes Janet Alvarez, Donna Harvey and Khadine Santiago. The Rubies dance instructor is Christina Herrera.
The SLE administration and parents are grateful to the school's arts department for their dedication in always making students shine.
