Snapology courses for kids are available at the Miami Lakes Youth Center.
Spring Session I is called RoboPets. Kids can explore robotics and build pets, fish or a gator with LEGO bricks.
They’ll also learn about sensors, gears, wheels and axles when making dogs and frogs.
The class is offered from Jan. 12 - Feb. 9, 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Non-Resident fees are $100; Miami Lakes residents pay $90, using the code MLRES10 when signing up.
On Friday afternoons, 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. from Feb. 16 - April 5, the after- school program is called Combat Robots.
Kids will use LEGO bricks, learn engineering strategies and build a robot for friendly competition, robot football and participate in a hoop challenge.
Combat Robots costs $150 for non-residents and $135 for town residents, who get 10% off using the code MLRES10.
Single sessions cost $25 or $22.50.
Both courses will be held at the Miami Lakes Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive.
