The Education Fund holds supplies drive

    The Education Fund in Miami Lakes is an independent non-profit organization that supports teachers and public school education in Miami-Dade County.

     It has The Education Fund Ocean Bank Center for Education Materials, an 11,000 square foot warehouse in Medley, where educators can fill carts with art supplies and classroom essentials, all for free.

     The Center is in the middle of a drive for school supplies that lasts until Aug. 26.

     Needed items are: Backpacks; books for grades K-12; construction paper; composition books; copy paper; crayons (24 count); dividers; dry erase markers; glue sticks; hand sanitizer and soap; highlighters; index cards; erasers; pencils; pencil pouches; pens; pocket folders; rulers; scissors; tissues; washable markers and more.

    Items sought in bulk amounts include pencils; highlighters; erasers; notebooks; crayons; folders; rulers; sticky notes; filler paper; scissors and hand soap.
