Top Miami Lakes students graduate with honors

Top students from local schools received the designation of Valedictorian and Salutatorian for their effort and achievements. A school’s valedictorian is the highest-ranking student, followed by the second-highest, salutatorian. The valedictorian typically also gives the valedictory speech at graduation. Schools also award recognition in Latin honors such as Summa Cum Laude, with highest honor, Magna Cum Laude, with great honor, and Cum Laude, with honor.
