On February 6, Monsignor Edward Pace High School hosted its annual Career Day where 50 career professionals spoke with current Pace students. Among these visitors was U.S. Congresswoman and Florida Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.
Ros-Lehtinen told her life story, explained her work in Washington, and took questions from a packed room of students inside Pace’s Spartan Center before the school’s opening bell.
For the rest of the day, students were sent from classroom to classroom to hear lectures and presentations from the lawyers, doctors, entrepreneurs, artists, entertainers, politicians, including Miami Lakes council member Nelson Rodriguez, and other professionals on hand. Many of the professionals who visited the school are Pace alumni themselves and were returning to their alma mater and happily commenting on Pace’s improvements.
Following the day’s events, presenters were welcomed into the school’s Innovation Center where they were thanked by principal Ana Garcia.
