Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten lottery underway for 2023-2024 school year

     The lottery for the Miami-Dade County Public Schools free Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten is open for the 2023-2024 school year. 

     Packets became available from participating schools on Feb. 1; the lottery drawing will be held Feb. 24. 

     Parents will need to have the following documents in order to register for the VPK lottery: 

     --Proof of identification with an original official birth certificate; 

     --Two documents that prove the applicant lives at an address (lease agreement/property deed and FPL bill); 

     --Immunization record which includes proof of a physical exam with form HRS 3040 and a certificate of immunization, form HRS 680. 

        Students who are planning to enroll in VPK will also need a certificate of eligibility, found on www.vpkhelp.org, and must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1.
