‘Walk our children to school day’ at HGE

There was some serious star power for the kids at Hialeah Gardens Elementary School as they marked “Walk Our Children to School Day” on Oct. 1.
Lady Liberty (4th grader Diana Vazquez) was joined by Principal Rachel Autler; Perla Tabares Hantman, chair, School Board of Miami-Dade County and Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho.
Hialeah Gardens Mayor Yioset De La Cruz was also on hand for the event.
Hialeah Gardens Elementary is at 9702 NW 130th St. in Hialeah.
The goal of the day is to encourage students to walk and ride their bikes to school along safe routes that are identified for them.
