Three Miami Lakes Educational Center (MLEC) students (left to right) Qemari Thompson, Rebekkah Mason and Titi McPerebo are active members of MLEC's chapter of Women of Tomorrow, a club sponsored by English teacher Ericka Reed. This year, they were among the young women who received scholarships for their outstanding academic success, leadership and community service. The Women of Tomorrow is a noted non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring, motivating and empowering young women. It was founded by Jennifer Valoppi, Don Browne and Katherine Fernandez Rundle.
