Miami Lakes was recently awarded a $100,000 grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Florida Highway Beautification Council which provides funding to improve urban environments along highways throughout the state.
The Town submitted an application for $100,000 to assist in funding the State Road 826/N.W. 154 Street Landscape Improvements Project.
“This is yet another positive step in ensuring that our Town continues to ‘grow beautifully’,” said Mayor Manny Cid. “Town staff worked very hard to find grant dollars to supplement our budget and improve our resident’s quality of life.”
The project will complement landscape enhancements that are being made on the northern portion of N.W. 154 Street, adjacent to N.W. 77 Court, on the west side of the Palmetto Expressway, as part of a prior Florida Highway Beautification Grant. These grant funds will advance the Town’s efforts to fully implement the Beautification Master Plan.
