A second leader has departed The Town of Miami Lakes building department within a month.
Angel Rivas, who was promoted on June 17th from chief building inspector to building official, resigned on July 7th for personal reasons, Town Manager Ed Pidermann told the town council and staff in an email.
Rivas was to jointly lead the building department with Daniel Angel.
Angel previously led the parks and recreation department. He is overseeing building department administration and operations, including building, zoning and code enforcement.
Pidermann said a new building official would be recruited as soon as possible.
Rivas and Angel replaced Building Official Mike Mesa and Building Department Manager Lourdes Rodriguez, who both resigned on June 11th.
