Town of Miami Lakes roots for the home teams

     It’s a storybook season for two of South Florida’s sports teams: The Miami Heat of the NBA and the NHL’s Florida Panthers.   

     They were both unlikely contenders as No. 8 playoff seeds to reach the finals of their respective leagues.

     On May 22, team banners were hung in a front window at Miami Lakes Town Hall to support the Cats and the Heat and to bring the community together, the town said.

     Will the Panthers win their first Stanley Cup? 

    Can the Heat bring the Larry O’Brien trophy home a fourth time?
