Getting on the bus, thinking out of the box for westside improvements

Mayor Josh Dieguez, along with members of the Miami Lakes Town Council and the Town Manager, joined other local area representatives to look at traffic in Miami Lakes.

The group included representatives from the Florida Department of Transportation; Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization; Florida Rep. Tom Fabricio, R-Miami Lakes; and a representative from Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart’s office boarded a rented Hialeah Transit bus and explored Miami Lakes’ busiest corridor along Northwest 154 Street and the Palmetto Expressway.

The meeting was intended to consider solutions for the traffic congestion near the Palmetto on the west side of Miami Lakes.

Solutions discussed included infrastructure improvements and additions around the Palmetto.
