The Miami Lakes Town Council recognized Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with a proclamation at its September 15 council meeting.

Mayor Josh Dieguez announced that all of September was to be recognized as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in the Town of Miami Lakes.

“This goes out to all the survivors and those who are still dealing with childhood cancer,” Dieguez said.

The Town of Miami Lakes is seeking students who want to be more engaged with local government. Applications are now being accepted for the Youth Advisory Board to help provide perspectives on issues affecting young people in the community.
