Applications due for Future Leaders grants

Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board (EAB) announced it is now accepting applications for the 2019 Miami Lakes Future Leaders Scholarship presented by The Graham Companies.
Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who are residents of the Town of Miami Lakes.
All applications must be received at Town Hall by Friday, March 29. The EAB will select the two recipients at its April board meeting and winners will be announced at the Town Council meeting on Tuesday, May 14.
Interested seniors must submit a typed essay (750 words maximum) explaining in his/her own words how they aspire to make the world a better place. The student must demonstrate academic achievement and community service commitment, as well as identify future goals.
A cover sheet must accompany the essay, along with an official sealed high school transcript, and three letters of recommendation from non-relatives, one of which must be from a teacher or school official.
