Assistant Town Manager Andrea Agha elected VP of MDCCMA

Town of Miami Lakes assistant Town Manager Andrea M. Agha was recently elected vice president of the Miami-Dade City and County Management Association (MDCCMA).

The Association was established in 1963 to bring together local government professional administrators to stimulate the highest standards of public service and administration, and to promote good fellowship and closer intergovernmental relationships. 

Primary objectives of the Association are to participate as an organization in community problem solving, to advocate the principles, standards and Code of Ethics of the International City/County Management Association, and to actively influence and participate in the Florida City and County Management Association and the International City and County Management Association activities.

Agha has over 12 years in private and public sector government experience. After obtaining a Master’s degree in Business Administration graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami, she founded a real estate and construction business.

In 2010, Agha began working for the Town of Miami Lakes as a special projects consultant overseeing the implementation of innovative data tracking systems to improve service delivery to residents. 

With a diverse background having overseen several Town departments, she was promoted in 2014 to assistant Town Manager. In this position, she has lead the charge in developing the Town’s 10 year Strategic Plan which focuses on improving mobility, enhancing the Town’s signature beauty and economic development, while implementing strategies to improve transparency and quality of life. 

Agha will be recognized as the newly elected vice president at MDCCMA’s installation ceremony on Friday, June 16.
