Shores of Miami Lakes is an assisted living and skilled nursing facility planned for the west side of Miami Lakes.
DOS of Hialeah, Inc. (Developing Options for Seniors), has asked to go before the town council to seek approval for the project during the Oct. 12 meeting.
The company, based in Miami Lakes, would buy 4.16 acres at 14500 Commerce Way from The Graham Companies.
“We are excited that DOS, with their vast experience in providing senior living options and knowledge of the local market, is bringing such a wonderful project to our community and completing the vision for a senior village in Miami Lakes,” said Luis Martinez, senior executive vice president of The Graham Companies.
The shield-shaped vacant lot is at the southeast corner of Graham Dairy Lake, near Northwest 146th Street.
The project is a revision – with DOS, the new health care provider and developer -- of plans for a senior living facility the council unanimously approved on June 9, 2017.
When the four-story structure is built, its northern neighbors will be the future Lakeside Village, an age-restricted residential development, and a 6,000 sq. ft. community center to rise on 1.3 acres.
The community center would be donated by The Graham Companies, which would build the exterior for the town.
Shores of Miami Lakes would have 158 rooms (some double, some private and semi-private) with 246 beds: 60 beds for assisted living residents; 56 beds for memory care patients and 150 beds for residents who require skilled nursing, the plans show.
Spaces for 117 vehicles would be available on the property which is 181,298 square feet.
Amenities will include pedestrian walkways along the lake, pergolas and a connection between Shores of Miami Lakes and the community center.
