Bike Rodeo Winner

    The Miami Lakes Youth Activities Task Force held a bike rodeo Sept. 24 at Veterans Park to promote bicycle safety for kids and adults. Miami-Dade County fire and police departments brought a helicopter and ladder truck for the kids to check out. Police officers also gave away helmets and fitted them on children and adults. 

   BMX riders put on a show, and donated bicycles were raffled off for kids. One of the prize winners, Sophia Luque, 5, above, poses with her new bicycle that had designs from the animated movie “Frozen.” It came with sparkly streamers, a rear seat for a doll and training wheels.
