Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Esteban Bovo Jr., was elected chairman of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority’s (SFRTA) governing board.
The County Commission tapped Bovo, whose District 13 includes the Town of Miami Lakes and the City of Hialeah, to serve as its representative on SFRTA’s governing board.
Broward County Mayor Tim Ryan was elected vice chair of the board.
Bovo also chairs the Miami-Dade County Transportation and Mobility Committee, and he serves on the Unincorporated Municipal Services Commiteee and the Strategic Planning and Government Operations Committee.
Ryan served as chair of the SFRTA’s governing board from 2016 to 2017. Ryan was elected to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners in November 2012 and became mayor in 2014.
