April 1 – 30 Earth Day Exhibit, “Celebrating Nature: The Everglades” with art by Deryn Cowdy. Sponsored by the Cultural Affairs Committee at Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St., weekdays, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., free. 

April 5 Bunco Game and lunch with the Miami Lakes Garden Club. Cost of $6 includes lunch, game and prizes. Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 NW 82nd Ave. at noon.

April 8  Spring Fling Easter Egg Hunt. Bring the family for this event from the Youth Activities Task Force, sponsored by Memorial Health System. Search for plastic eggs with candy inside; ride ponies; visit the petting zoo; decorate eggs; take photos with the Easter Bunny; listen to the DJ and other activities. Veterans Park, 15151 NW 82nd Ave. 10 a.m. Free. 

April 12 Senior Bingo luncheon. Join the Elderly Affairs Committee for its bi-monthly luncheon when you can enjoy lunch, win prizes and have a good time with neighbors age 60+. Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 NW 87 Ave. 11 a.m. Pre-registration is required to attend. Free. 

April 12 Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon. Miami Lakes Hotel on Main, 6842 Main St. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m., lunch is at noon. The guest speaker is Brian Latell, Ph.D., author of several books on Fidel Castro and Cuba and a former intelligence officer. Tickets are $35 for members, $45 for non-members, $50 day of event. April 12 Youth Open Hang at The Spot. Enjoy games, snacks and refreshments. Activities include an indoor Easter Egg Hunt and egg painting. Miami Lakes Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive. 5:30 p.m. Ages 8 - 11. Free. 

April 15 Community Service Hours for Teens. Earn community service hours while cleaning up Veterans Park. Middle and high school students are encouraged to participate. Veterans Park, 15151 NW 82nd Ave. 9 a.m. Ages 13 - 17. Free. 

April 19 Teen Open Hang at The Spot, which includes games, refreshments and snacks with friends. Miami Lakes Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive. 6 p.m. Ages 12 - 15. Free. 

April 20 Mt. Sinai Health Forum. Join the Elderly Affairs Committee for a talk on GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) and surgical treatment. Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St. 11 a.m. Free. 

April 24 Miami Lakes Garden Club monthly meeting. Join the Garden Club to make friends and learn all about plants. Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 NW 82 Ave. 7 p.m. Free. 

April 27 Zonta Club of Miami Lakes monthly meeting. Trattoria Pampered Chef Restaurant, 7347 Miami Lakes Drive. 6:30 p.m.
