Oct. 20 Youth Open Hang. Kids ages 5 - 12 can hang out with friends and paint pumpkins during this fall-themed hang at The Spot. Miami Lakes Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive. Free. 5:30 p.m. 

Oct. 20 to Oct. 29 “Dr. Seward’s Dracula: A Gothic Drama” presented by The Main Street Players. The Main Street Players launch the Halloween season with “Dr. Seward’s Dracula: A Gothic Drama,” by Joseph Zettelmaier. Curtain is 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. on Sundays. Oct. 27 Teen Open Hang. Teenagers ages 13 - 17 can meet friends at The Spot during this monthly event. Miami Lakes Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive. Free. 6 p.m. 

Oct. 28 Nightmare on Montrose. Join the Youth Activities Task Force at Veterans Park, 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. for “costumes, candy and cobwebs,” a family-friendly Halloween party. Visit the haunted house and candy stations; decorate pumpkins; there will be food trucks, a costume contest. 15151 NW 82nd Ave. Free. 

Nov. 2 Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce’s 23rd Annual Networking Business Expo WSVN-Ch.7’s Vivian Gonzalez is mistress of ceremonies. Games, entertainment, prizes and giveaways. Meet your local merchants. Miami Lakes Hotel on Main, 6842 Main St. 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Free and open to the public.

Nov. 5 44th Annual Veterans Day Parade. Celebrate Veterans Day with the Miami Lakes Veterans Committee during this classic parade that has marching bands and veterans of all wars and eras. Route begins at Northwest 67th Avenue and Bull Run Road. Marchers continue south to Eagle Nest Lane and then to Main Street, ends at Town Hall. Free. 10 a.m.

Nov. 8 Senior Bingo Luncheon. Join the Elderly Affairs Committee for its popular senior bingo luncheon. Seniors 60+ can enjoy lunch, fun and prizes at this event. Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 NW 87th Ave. Free. 11 a.m.

Nov. 18  The 38th Annual Main Street Festival of Lights. Visit with Santa who will brighten the night and magically light up the street.
