At the February 7 Town Council meeting, several community members were recognized for their accomplishing and community support.
Boy Scout Troop 584, Cub Scout Pack 484, and Girl Scout Troop 584 arrived early for a Meet and Greet session with council members and also presented the colors for the regular meeting. The scouts were provided the opportunity to ask questions of the Council and received their “Citizenship in the Community” merit badges.
Farrah Salem was recognized for being named “Rookie Teacher of the Year” at Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High. Salem is the lead magnet teacher and Department Chair for Career and Technology Education.
Apart from the classroom, Salem sponsors the Women of Tomorrow and Future Business Leaders of America clubs, and participates in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Miami program.
